What You’ll Do
Every call is different, which means no two days are ever the same at the Franklins. As an Operational Firefighter or Driver, you’ll respond to a wide variety of emergencies while helping maintain a constant state of readiness.

No. We provide the training and mentorship needed to become a successful firefighter, but we encourage those with experience to apply to pass their knowledge and skills onto others!
The Franklin Fire Department provides your protective equipment, training, department email, access to other resources and beyond.
Many of our volunteers balance careers, families, and other commitments. We encourage members to participate as their schedules allow while remaining engaged with the department.
Absolutely. Driver training is available to qualified members after gaining experience and meeting department requirements.
Growth starts with mentorship. You’ll have the opportunity to learn alongside experienced officers and members who have built successful careers in both the volunteer and career fire service, including larger departments throughout the region. Their guidance, combined with hands-on experience and continued training, helps prepare our members to become confident firefighters, future leaders, and lifelong servants of their community.
Yes! Franklin Fire Company proudly offers a Live-In Program for qualified members. This program provides an opportunity to live at the station while serving the community, gaining valuable emergency service experience, and becoming more involved in department operations.
Whether you’re a college student, beginning a career in the fire service, relocating to the area, or simply looking for a unique volunteer opportunity, our Live-In Program offers an excellent way to develop your skills while becoming part of our firehouse family.
