Who Are We Looking For As Fire Police?

What You’ll Do
Emergency Scene Safety
- Establish safe traffic patterns
- Secure emergency scenes
- Protect firefighters and emergency personnel
- Assist with road closures and detours
- Help maintain public safety
Community Events
- Traffic control
- Parking coordination
- Parade support
- Special event operations
- Public safety assistance
Departmental Support
- Assist with emergency operations
- Work alongside firefighters and EMS
- Support incident command
Training & Development
No previous experience needed
Our experienced Fire Police officers and operational leadership are committed to mentoring new members and helping them become confident, knowledgeable responders.

Needed to Apply:
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Complete the department’s application and onboarding process (Background checks and more)
- Complete Interview Process

Professionalism and Responsibility
Fire Police are often one of the first department representatives the public encounters during an emergency or community event. Members are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, respect, and sound judgment while wearing the Franklin Fire Company uniform and representing our department.

No. Fire Police do not perform interior firefighting duties.
Absolutely. Fire Police provide an essential service that supports every emergency response.
Many of our volunteers balance careers, families, and other commitments. We encourage members to participate as their schedules allow while remaining engaged with the department.
Yes. All required training is provided, and you’ll work alongside experienced members as you gain confidence, don’t worry!
Fire Police members have opportunities to expand their knowledge through continued training, mentorship, and leadership development. Our experienced officers are committed to sharing their expertise, helping members build confidence, develop decision-making skills, and prepare for leadership roles within the Fire Police unit and the department.
Yes. Many members choose to expand or change their involvement over time. If your interests change, we’ll help you explore additional training and membership opportunities.
