Mark Trace
Fire Chief 46
Mark has been a member of the Franklin Fire Company for 29 years. He has been an officer for 24 years, including 17 years as Fire Chief. He has also served as Deputy Chief, Assistant Chief, and Captain. Outside of the Franklins, Mark is a Lieutenant for DC Fire and EMS.
Dave Olson
Deputy Chief 47
Dave has been a member at Franklin Fire Company for 18 years and has been an officer for 12 years. Besides serving as Deputy Chief, Dave has also held the position of Assistant Chief and Captain. Outside of the Franklin Fire Company, Dave is a Lieutenant for Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS of Maryland.
Owen Ranck
Assistant Chief 48
Owen has been a member of the Franklin Fire Company for 10 years. 2024 is his seventh year as an officer. Before becoming Assistant Chief, Owen also served as Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Outside of Station 4, he is a Firefighter/EMT for Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
Steve Himes
Assistant Chief 49
Steve has been a member of The Franklin Fire Company for 29 years. He has served 16 years as a Chief Officer and also served 3 years in an administrative role. Outside of the Franklin Fire Company Steve is a Captain for DC Fire and EMS.
Matt Bigler
Captain 44
Matt has been a member of the Franklin Fire Company for 18 years and has been an officer for 8 years. Prior to becoming Captain in 2024, he also served as Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Assistant Chief. Outside of Station 4, Matt works for the Chambersburg Borough Street Department.
Colby Miller
Lieutenant 44
Colby has been a member of the Franklin Fire Company for 7 years. 2024 is his fourth year being an officer. Last year, Colby served as Sergeant 44-1. Outside of Station 4, Colby is a Firefighter/EMT for Arlington County Fire Department.
Payden Miller
Sergeant 44-1
Payden has been a member of the Franklin Fire Company for 8 years. 2024 is his first year as an Officer. Outside of Station 4, Payden is a telecommunicator for Franklin County Department of Emergency Services.
John Emmons
Sergeant 44-2
John has been a member of the Franklin Fire Company for 37 years. John is happy to be back as an officer again! He is another example of generations here at the Franklins. His father was a life member and served as an Asst. Chief. Outside of the Franklins, John is a Captain for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue.
